Terms of service
Payment
50% deposit payment is taken on booking for your stay. All other extras (dinner, drinks, bike hire or Cook School experiences) will be charged on departure. Full and half day Cook School masterclass experiences may be required to be settled in full prior to attendance. Details of our services are available on request and are available on our website.
In order to make a reservation with us, you must be at least 16 years old.
You will need to provide your credit or debit card details to make payment for your booking with us. We accept Visa and MasterCard to secure a reservation.
Please check that the details of your reservation are complete and accurate before you confirm your reservation with us. Unfortunately, we will not be liable for any delay or non-performance if you provide us with incorrect information (but we will do our best to assist you).
We will confirm our acceptance of your reservation and payment by sending you an email to the email address that you provide during the reservation process. The contract between us for the provision of your room and any additional services added to your reservation will be formed when you receive this email confirmation from us.
If you think that there is a mistake in your reservation or if you require any changes to a confirmed reservation, please contact us to discuss.
All payments for a stay with us include VAT, and if we cater for an event, the cost includes VAT unless otherwise stated.
Steading reservations during events
Please note, for stays in The Steading at Ballintaggart Farm, if you book on a date where this is Feast Night, Slow Sunday or Cook School Masterclass there will be restrictions regarding your access to the kitchen.
For Feast Nights, access to the kitchen unavailable until midnight. We strongly recommend joining our Feast Night experience, and offer discounted tickets to the Feast Night for the night you are staying. If you do not wish to join the Feast Night, please note the kitchen will still be in use.
For a Slow Sunday lunch, discounts are offerend on tickets to all guests staying in The Steading. If you do not wish to attend the lunch, a later check in time will be offered.
For Cook School Masterclasses, the Steading kitchen will be unavailable during the Cook School (until 6pm) for guests staying in the Steading.

Single person occupancy
We discount the tariffs by £20 per room per night.
Children
At Ballintaggart Farm, children of all ages are welcome. Travel cots, high chairs and z-beds are all available on request.
At The Grandtully Hotel, we have several rooms with twin bed capacity, travel cots for babies and additional z-beds if required. While the maximum occupancy is two adults, we do allow infants and babies to stay and, on request, we can make arrangements for them in rooms. However, children under the age of 14 years old are not permitted to stay in The Grandtully Hotel unless there is a parent or guardian also staying at the hotel with us. We reserve the right to request valid photographic proof of identity and age so please bring this with you. Our reservations team will be happy to discuss your personal requirements.
Check in/out
Check in at Ballintaggart Farm, East End Cottage or The Grandtully Hotel is from 3pm. Check out is by 11am. Late check outs can be arranged with at least 24 hours prior notice and it is at our discretion. Please do let us know if you plan to arrive after 7pm.
Failure to check in on your scheduled arrival date by 7pm (without advanced notice) will be treated as a cancellation and the room may be reallocated without further notice. Failure to check out by 11am on the scheduled date of departure, without prior agreement, will incur an additional charge of £25. Please have your booking confirmation e-mail available when checking in.
Parking
Free parking is available for guests. At Ballintaggart Farm, please use the car park at the top of the driveway, or the edge of the field! At The Grandtully Hotel, our car park is located to the rear of the building. Should this be full, please use the Grandtully Car Park which, from the Hotel is located just off the A827, past the large house Port Na Salan, up the track to the left, bearing left. Please park considerately and be aware that our local neighbours Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier and The Inn on the Tay have their own carparks for their guests only.
Wifi
Guests may make use of Ballintaggart’s complimentary wifi for reasonable and appropriate purposes, subject always to access and downloads being lawful, proportionate and not excessive. Wifi passwords are available in the rooms and on check in.
Smoking
Ballintaggart is a non-smoking establishment.
Pets
Small, well behaved dogs are welcome at Ballintaggart. They are welcome in all of our accommodation at Ballintaggart Farm for an additional fee of £50. And dogs are welcome in the bar and outside at The Grandtully Hotel, but we cannot accommodate any pets with the exception of assistance dogs in the rooms.

Property
All property in guest rooms, including waffle robes where provided, remains the property of Ballintaggart, East End Cottage and/or The Grandtully Hotel (depending on where you are staying). If you enjoyed wearing one of our cosy waffle robes and you would like to take one home, please contact our reception team who will advise you on cost. Unfortunately, if you do remove a waffle robe without our prior permission, we will charge the cost of replacement at £50.
Guests are politely asked to remain respectful to other guests, staff and property.
We are unable to accept any liability for loss or damage to guest property.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are for use only in relation to Ballintaggart experiences including accommodation and dinner, Feast Nights and Cook School masterclasses. They can be used at Ballintaggart Farm, East End Cottage, The Cook School or The Grandtully Hotel. Bookings must be made in advance, quoting voucher number.
Gift vouchers are not refundable or redeemable for cash and non transferable. Lost or stolen gift vouchers cannot be replaced. Gift vouchers must be presented upon arrival. No photocopies or photographs will be accepted. Cancellation of a booking with less than 24 hours notice or non attendance without notice will render the voucher null and void without further liability. Vouchers must be used within 12 months of the date of purchase, after which period the voucher will expire without the right to refund.
We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to terms and conditions relating to vouchers and their use from time to time.
Cancellations
Your rights: When you make a booking with us, you are entitled to a full refund or to move to a new date if a cancellation or change is made outwith 28 days of your scheduled arrival date. In the event of cancellation by you within 28 days to seven days of your schedule arrival date, you will be charged 50% of the total fee, unless we're able to re-sell your room, in which case you will receive a full refund. In the event of cancellation by you within seven days of your schedule arrival date, you will be charged in full for your booking without the right to any refund of any part of your booking.
Any pre-paid extras made with a cancelled booking will also be charged in full regardless of when the cancellation is made.
We reserve the right to exercise our discretion when considering the reasons for your cancellation.
If you are concerned about the likelihood of cancelling your reservation on short notice, you should contact us to discuss and you should also consider taking out travel insurance.
Our right to cancel for your breach: We may cancel your reservation at any time with immediate effect by giving you written notice (which includes email) if:
- you do not pay us when you are required to do so; or
- you break the contract between us in any way.
If we cancel your reservation where you are at fault, we reserve our legal rights in respect of your breach of contract. Where your stay with us had/has not yet commenced, the total payment made or to be made by you for such room shall be deemed a cancellation charge and is not for any service.
Our right to cancel - events outside our control: We may also cancel your reservation if an event outside of our control (including industrial action, explosion, fire, flooding, and failure of power and/or water supplies, emergency evacuation or extreme weather warnings) means that we are unable to make your room available to you. In this case we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible and we will move your booking to an alternative date.
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by an event outside of our control. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Cancellation and Refunds for Cook School Masterclasses, Feast Nights, Slow Sunday Lunches and other Lifestyle Events.
If you cancel:
If you cancel more than 28 days prior to your booking, you can choose to either receive a full refund, or move your booking to an alternative date.
If you have used a voucher to book, this is not eligible for a refund, but we can move your booking to an alternative event of the same value, before your voucher expiry date.
It you cancel less than 28 days prior to your booking, your booking is non-refundable or exchangeable.
Please note, if receiving a refund, this can take up to 14 days to be processed.
If you need to cancel your attendance to an event due to extreme weather warnings leaving you unable to travel, we will move your booking to an alternative date. If you have also booked accommodation, please see our cancellation policy above for accommodation cancellations.
If we cancel:
If Ballintaggart have to cancel due to events out of our control (such as fire, flooding, failure of power, water supplies or extreme weather warnings), we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible, and honour to move your booking to a future date.
If you have booked accommodation alongside your Cook School Masterclass, Feast Night, Slow Sunday or Lifestyle Event, our accommodation T&C’s apply.

Your information
We keep your personal data safe and secure. Full details about how we use your data are set out in our Privacy Policy https://www.ballintaggart.com/privacy-policy. Similar to other websites, this website and our system utilises a standard technology called cookies and web server logs to collect information about how the website and/or the system is used and how to improve them. Further details can be found in our Cookie Notice in our Privacy Policy. By providing information about you to us (as outlined in the Privacy Policy) when making a reservation, you consent (on your behalf and on behalf of each member of your group included in the booking) to such processing and you warrant that all information provided by you is accurate.
The contract
This contract formed when we confirm your reservation is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties Act) 1999 or otherwise.
Your rights
As one of our guests, you have certain rights under consumer protection legislation. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect those rights.
Our liability
If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for example, if you discussed it with us during the sales process.
We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; for breach of your legal rights in relation to the services including the right to receive services which are as described and supplied with reasonable skill and care.
Where we are liable to you (save as prohibited by applicable law) our maximum liability to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or for breach of statutory duty shall in no event exceed the price of your reservation unless the Hotel Proprietor's Act 1956 applies, in which case our liability will be limited to the maximum prescribed under that Act.
Applicable law
These terms and conditions, their subject matter and formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by and construed in accordance with English law. However, we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these terms and conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country. If you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
Severability
If any part of these terms and conditions is deemed invalid, illegal or for any reason unenforceable then that part will be deemed deleted and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining parts. Any failure by us to enforce our rights or remedies under these terms and conditions or otherwise shall not be construed as a waiver by us of those or any other rights or remedies.
All rights not expressly granted in these terms and conditions are reserved.
